Paramount Skydance Plans to Remove Approximately 2,000 United States Roles – Report

Skydance Paramount will start large-scale job cuts beginning on 27 October, removing about 2,000 American roles under a expense reduction strategy worth $2bn under CEO David Ellison.

These job cuts come after the merger between Skydance Media and Paramount Global, which closed during August valued at $8.4bn.

Further overseas workforce reductions are anticipated, with the company intending to disclose all specifics in its third quarter earnings report on 10 November.

Previous updates had indicated that Paramount aimed to eliminate between 2,000 and 3,000 jobs by early November.

As of December 2024, Paramount employed almost 18,600 workers on full-time and part-time contracts plus 3,500 contract workers.

The company has not provided a response to a request for comment.
